Tribute to UNISON Member Natalie Keetley – Nottingham City

Natalie Keetley wanted to be a lifeguard from a young age and at 21 she made it after landing her dream job with Nottingham City Council starting work at John Carroll Sports Centre. 

It wasn’t long before her drive and enthusiasm opened doors to new opportunities which she grabbed with both handsShe excelled in her roleCentre Attendant soon became Swim Teacher on top of which she qualified as a National Pool Lifeguard Trainer Assessor.

Natalie’s ambition was to move into management within Sport and Leisure; recently securing a trainee Supervisor position, she undertook the training and started to gain experience covering as a Supervisor at John Carroll Leisure Centre.

Natalie enhanced the lives of many children and young people attending Nottingham schools through her skills as a swimming and water safety teacher.

She was a proud member of UNISON. Sadly on the 8 April 2020 Natalie died of Covid-19 aged just 30.
