Morrisons Data Services Pay Offer overwhelmingly accepted

How we work

Thanks goes out to all members who took part in the recent ballot which closed on 7th March 2023. This resulted in an overwhelming acceptance of the offers for both Meter Reps and Managers within MDS.

Grey Book employees accepting the offer 96% said yes
Ex Eon employees accepting the offer 89% said yes
Ex Siemens employees accepting offer 100% said yes
Managers accepting offer 88% said yes

The challenge from here is to build the union.

It is because you choose to be a member of UNISON that we can negotiate on your behalf. It is important that you do whatever you can to encourage your colleagues to join. The message is simple: the more members we have the stronger our voice in negotiations.

For Meter Reps….
We have a wide coverage of Reps to support you and UNISON.
Doncaster/Scunthorpe/Grimsby – Danny Carlin
Mansfield/Nottingham/Lincoln – Kevin Wareham (Chair of the National Staff Council)
East Anglia – Gary Woollerton
Hull – Danny Arnott (and Vice-Chair of the National Staff Council)
Cumbria/North-West – Michael Bell
Stoke on Trent/Staffordshire – Tony Bond
Sheffield/Rotherham/Barnsley – Martin Harper
Middlesbrough – Malcolm Conway
South-East – Maria Stewart
Liverpool – Colin Fielding
Wales – Neil Stevens
Ex-E.ON – Richard Porth

And we have some vacancies….
In Scotland, Derby/Leicester and in the South-West. If you work in any of these areas and would like to know more about becoming a rep, please contact Kevin our Branch Secretary via benson3353@hotmail.com

For Managers….
We have developed a mangers forum for members which meets every six weeks or so. This has proven helpful in listening to mangers concerns and receiving feedback in respect of the pay claim. We have seen an increase in membership amongst this group, and we are grateful to Mick Capon our Manager’s Rep for the work he is undertaking.

Office Staff…
Roger Mosedale is our Rep. We are still awaiting movement from the company on the pay offer for 2023. Once we have an offer, we will
ballot members accordingly.

A reminder of the AGM…
The Utility Services Branch AGM takes place on Wednesday 22nd March 2022 at 12.30pm and then again 6pm. As previously advised it will be hosted via Microsoft Teams – if you don’t have access this way you can join via the telephone

If you have would like us to send you the TEAMs link so you can join online, please email benson3353@hotmail.com
