It is nearly time for the next UNISON East Midlands Young Members Forum meeting, which will be held in Northampton.

There’s a lot to talk about! Two of our members are just back from representing us in Cuba at the May Day Brigade, a number of members are just back from National Delegate Conference and we welcome a return of newly designated Young Members following conferences decision to raise the age limit to 30. This was a motion that started right here in the East Midlands and made it all the way to the National Rule Book!

However before the meeting we will be supporting Northampton Pride by marching through the Town before arriving at Northampton University which is hosting the festivities this year to support local UNISON branches.

We will then decamp to a local pub, which has reserved a spot for us to have our meeting and will give members a chance to catch up properly and plan for the next few months.

We recognise that for some members, Northampton is difficult to get to by public transport, therefore the Forum will be providing a mini bus from Kettering Station to take you to Northampton. Kettering station is accessible direct in 45 mins from Nottingham, and 25 minutes from Leicester. The mini bus will pick up from Kettering Station at 10.15 and then again from the Pomfret Arms at 15.30.
