How to apply
Please read the Guidance notes for Applicants above and complete the application form below and return to LMD@unison.co.uk
Course places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. Provided the course still has places available, your course place will be confirmed on receipt of your application
Important: Your course place will however be subject to your branch approving your attendance on the course and your offer of a place will be withdrawn if the branch refuse approval

National Organising for Safety courses are for health and safety reps requiring training in their role. These 5-day courses involve reps attending tutorials on fixed dates, with additional tasks to be carried out independently

Next Steps for Safety Reps
This online course helps health & safety reps identify, prevent and control risks helping to build a safer and healthier workplace. It encourages reps to involve members in safety issues by developing a collective approach to health and safety. It helps reps keep up to date on health and safety law and information enabling them to use it more effectively. The course help reps build health and safety organisation and effect real change in the workplace.
Who is the course for?
This course is designed for health & safety representatives who have already completed the TUC Health and Safety Stage 1 course or the UNISON Organising for Safety Course, and who have had subsequent experience as an elected health and safety rep.
The course takes place online, 1 day a week for 10 weeks.

This online course gives experienced health & safety reps the opportunity to question the development and function of health and safety law, discover how to build trade union organisation for health and safety and tackle some of the health, safety, welfare and environmental problems that workers currently face.
