Commenting on the results of the county council elections, UNISON East Midlands regional secretary Chris Jenkinson said:
“Reform councillors will soon discover that running local government isn’t about scrapping mythical ‘vanity projects’—it’s about deciding which desperately needed services go underfunded.
“When the budget doesn’t stretch to meet the needs of all disabled children, what do you cut? Who do you leave behind?
“These are the brutal realities of local government—not slogans, but sacrifices.”
