Delays in hospital overhaul unacceptable, says UNISON

Commenting on the government’s decision to postpone plans to rebuild Nottingham’s Queen’s Medical Centre and City Hospital, UNISON East Midlands regional secretary Chris Jenkinson said:

“We are deeply disappointed by the ongoing delays and uncertainty surrounding the much-needed redevelopment of Queen’s Medical Centre and City Hospital.

“This situation is yet another example of the failure of the previous Conservative government’s so-called new hospital building programme. We urgently need investment in our healthcare infrastructure, not delay and disappointment.

“UNISON will continue to campaign vigorously for the government to deliver on its promises and provide the funding necessary to give our NHS the modern, fit for purpose facilities it needs to thrive.”
