Teachers and school support staff at Sir Francis Primary School in Lincoln have gone on strike over issues around bullying, intimidation, and misogynist behaviour.
A considerable number of staff have left the school over the last 18 months after school leaders and governors failed to properly address their concerns.
UNISON East Midlands regional organiser Liz Lowe said: “Poor working conditions in the school has forced dedicated and experienced staff to leave, causing pupils and parents avoidable anxiety. We want to see real, long-term improvements in the quality of school leadership, the wellbeing of staff, and the outcomes for pupils.
“The staff at Sir Francis Hill School have come together to support each other through incredibly challenging circumstances and are only taking this action as a last resort. UNISON will continue to work with the school and the local authority to reach a resolution to this dispute.”
UNISON has joined with NEU and NASUWT for coordinated industrial action.
