UNISON tells East Midlands Employers: “Protect Our Jobs”

UNISON branches across the region are asking bosses to promise job protection for staff, in recognition of their vital work during the COVID-19 pandemic and to alleviate job fears during economic uncertainty.

UNISON wants employers to sign its Job Protection Agreement giving all staff a no compulsory redundancies guarantee.

UNISON Regional Manager Rachel Hodson said:

“During Covid-19, staff have kept working on the front line to keep essential services running to protect our community.

“These are tough times. People are worried about their health and that of their families. They shouldn’t have to worry about job security too.”

Local Branches will be writing to employers to discuss the Job Protection Agreement in the coming weeks, and will be celebrating employers who do the right thing and offer staff job security in these unprecedented times.
